Welcome, music students!

Welcome to Wellsboro Area High School Music Department!
Courses offered are Chorus, Concert Band, Music 9, and Music Theory.This year chorus classes rehearse during period 2, 3, and 8. Band rehearses during period 8. Rehearsals are every other day.
Chorus and band are participation/performance based, and each has an evening performance that is required.
Concert dates for the Fall Semester:
    Concert Band - Monday, December 8, 2014 and Chorus - Monday, December 15, 2014.
Band members also are required to attend instrumental lessons as well as scheduled rehearsals.
Music 9 and Music Theory are actual classes with texts, daily notes/work, participation, and tests.
Both courses involve singing and playing instruments as well as listening, reading and analyzing music. Music Theory students should have a good background in piano or some other musical training.

Wellsboro Area High School has several ensembles that are offered at no credit.
Women's Ensemble is an auditioned group that meets on a rotating schedule.
Men's Ensemble has no audition, but men must be a chorus member to join.
Dickens Choir is our top vocal group, and is selected by the vocal director.
Marching Band has a scheduled band camp in August, with rehearsals on Tuesday evenings during the school year. Marching Band plays for football games and community parades. This year's director is Ms. Bri Erdmann.
Jazz Band meets on Tuesday during tutorial, and Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:10-3:45.
Handbell Choir is directed by senior, Ally Hepp. Handbell Choir meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:00am.
