Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week - October 2009

On Friday, October 30, 2009 members of the Wellsboro Area High School planted red tulip bulbs outside the Wellsboro High School Mary Lou Putnam Fitness Center in honor of Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week is one of the oldest and largest drug prevention campaigns in the country.  The premise behind the week is for communities and individuals to take a stand and promote living a drug fee life.  In honor of the week, the Wellsboro students planted 90 red tulip bulbs to approximate the number of teenagers that were killed in automobile crashes last year in the state of Pennsylvania.  Members participating in the activity were Montana Abplanalp, Bri Crawford, Jami Daugherty, Megan Hockenberry, Felicia Myers, Beth Pfisterer, and Lilly Reynold
